Jennifer Lopez turned heads on Thursday with her latest fashion choice, low-cut grey pants featuring an attached, visible high-cut thong.
The exposed thong trend, in Spanish is called a “Tangalón”.
The 49 year-old star was photographed on the set of her new music video with DJ Khaled in Miami.
It was an unusual look made even stranger by the fact that Lopez’ pants and underwear appeared to be sewn together, attached at the waist. If there’s one person who can (somehow) embrace and pull off the whale tail though, it’s Jennifer Lopez.
Could we see the “Tangalón” in Costa Rica?
We asked two well known Tica models.
Karina Porras, host of the “Amantis” program was one of the four models consulted, and the only one to say YES.
Karina Porras said that she would dare to expose Jennifer Lopez style. “The first thing to be clear is that if Jennifer puts on a garbage bag it looks good because she is Jennifer Lopez. She looks good with whatever she wears and, in addition, imposes fashion. Yes (laughting), I would put it on. I would use it in a casual event. I had not seen it until you sent me the photos and I think that, as it is, it is not strange that soon it will be a trend in the whole world and soon I will arrive here (in Costa Rica),” she said.
Marcela Negrini, the beauty from Orotina, made clear when and when she would not use the “tangalón”.
“For a photo session that I would use it, depending on the session, but to go out (in public) I do not think so. They can be very Christian Dior or any other famous designer, but I would not use them. When I saw her my reaction was: ‘Thanks but no thanks’. I do not think that fashion hits here, the Tticos for some things are still very conservative,” she said.
