CHANHASSEN, Minn. — Prince Rogers Nelson (June 7, 1958 – April 21, 2016), known by the mononym Prince, one of the most inventive and influential musicians of modern times with hits including “Little Red Corvette,” ”Let’s Go Crazy” and “When Doves Cry,” was found dead at his home on Thursday in suburban Minneapolis.
He was 57.
His publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, told The Associated Press that the superstar “died at his home this morning at Paisley Park.”
While the entertainer left behind a volume of work that is as prolific as it is influential, he also wrote or co-wrote some of the biggest songs of the past few decades, including for artists like Tom Jones, Alicia Keys and Madonna.
