COSTA RICA EXTRA – The name and face of the new Miss Costa Rica will be announced on July 31, when the Miss Costa Rica 2015 pageant will be held.
The date was made official yesterday by Gabriela Alfaro, manager of Imagen y Publicidad de Teletica, the company that holds the Miss Universe franchise rights in the country.
The pageant event will take place at the Marco Picado studio, at the Teletica channel 7 television studios in La Sabana, starting at 8:00pm. Of course, the event will be broadcast live on channel 7.
Competition is expected to start on April 30, the date when applications can be made by women interested in taking part in the event.
The requirements include the applicant has not participated in any video or photo shoot that affects the country’s image to the world, that is has not appeared in pornography, semi or total nudity, etc., for example.
Applicants have to be between 18 and 26 years age as of December 2015, unmarried, childless, a Costa Rican, a minimum height of 1.68 metres (5′ 7″), speak basic English and be a college graduate.
Applicants can have taken part in past editions of Miss Costa Rica, save the preceding year (2014 in this case) and do not have to have competition experience.
“The number of finalists taking part in the final event is always 10,” said Alfaro.
