COSTA RICA EXTRA – The love story “Romeo and Juliet”, about two young star-crossed lovers whose deaths ultimately reconcile their feuding families, takes centre stage at the Teatro Nacional (National Theatre) in downtown San José.
The Russian Classical Ballet, one of the most prestigious ballet companies in Russia today, presents the ballet based on the writings of William Shakespeare and the music of Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev. “Romeo and Juliet”was among Shakespeare’s most popular plays during his lifetime and, along with Hamlet, is one of his most frequently performed plays.
The shows will be on March 21 at 8:00pm and March 22 at 5:00pm.

For the presentation in Costa Rica, the Russian Classical Ballet will have 35 dancers, similar to last year’s presentation of “Swan Lake”.
