COSTA RICA EXTRA – The love story “Romeo and Juliet”, about two young star-crossed lovers whose deaths ultimately reconcile their feuding families, takes centre stage at the Teatro Nacional (National Theatre) in downtown San José.

640px-Romeo_and_juliet_brownThe Russian Classical Ballet,  one of the most prestigious ballet companies in Russia today, presents the  ballet based on the writings of William Shakespeare and the music of Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev.  “Romeo and Juliet”was among Shakespeare’s most popular plays during his lifetime and, along with Hamlet, is one of his most frequently performed plays.

The shows will be on March 21 at 8:00pm and March 22 at 5:00pm.

Ticket prices ranging from ¢16.000 to ¢43.000 colones and can be purchase online at www.specialticket.net or by calling 2528-8778.

For the presentation in Costa Rica, the Russian Classical Ballet will have 35 dancers, similar to last year’s presentation of “Swan Lake”.

“Certainly the Ballet is a ‘must’ for anyone interested in classical ballet and of course a big favorite among connoisseurs of ballet and the general public that will certainly be moved by the intensity of the history and beauty of his interpretation,” said the press release.
